It was all the human’s fault. Grumpy Cat thought to himself. His human just had to disrespect his privacy and post a picture of him online and boom, he went viral. (Grumpy Cat wasn’t always Grumpy Cat, before, he was ginger, even though he wasn’t ginger.) In fact, Grumpy Cat thought that he looked quite happy in the pictures. Or at least that’s how he felt inside. You see, he has a condition, where he was cursed to have a bitch face for the rest of his days on this miserable Earth. But the frown on the face isn’t quite the story in the heart. Grumpy Cat didn’t really think that the world was miserable. It was just funnier to put that caption under his pictures. The world was actually quite fun. Not so grumpy grumpy cat would know, he’s used up 8 lives to stay put. Unfortunately, for some wretched reason, every time he used up his luck, he gained a flaw. The first time the maid almost squished him to death as a kitten and he miraculously escaped, he started balding. Another time he almost got run down by his owner’s car, he started declawing. There was a time a scarab which is a large dung beetle entered his mouth and almost choked him to death. That was when his expression from the time of the traumatic incident stayed etched on his face for days to come. Maybe it was a coping mechanism. Maybe he should ask his human whether he could join her for her therapy sessions every Thursday. He deserved it after staying with her all this time, through her kind and kracy days. In truth, he could feel it in his bones. It was time. Not so grumpy grumpy cat didn’t have much time left on this ‘miserable’ earth. But he was holding on for his human. Sometimes he worries, what will happen if his human comes home crying and is all alone. Who will be there to comfort and cuddle with her if not him. But maybe, if he could somehow transfer all his luck to her, maybe it wouldn’t feel so bad to leave. He just wanted her to be happy, to have an easy life, to laugh more. But the universe was never that kind to her. When she fell down and bruised her knees trying to learn to ride a bicycle as a child, Grumpy Cat was there. When she brought home a bad grade and got caned, Grumpy Cat was there. When she had her first heartbreak, Grumpy Cat was there. When her parents got divorced and she believed it was her fault, Grumpy Cat was there. When she started going to therapy, Grumpy Cat was there. Grumpy Cat is never Grumpy when she’s around. She tells him he is her guardian angle but Grumpy Cat thinks otherwise. When Grumpy Cat was left in a box at the side of the road as a kitten, she saved him. When Grumpy Cat was almost stepped on by the maid, she saved him. When her mother almost got him with her car, she saved him. When the scarab got stuck in his throat, she saved him. Grumpy Cat loves his human. Even though he has lost his ability to smile at her, she almost smiles at him, she always smiles for him. She loves him very much as well. I guess this is simply a simple story of a cat and a human. Behind the meme, there is always a story. Love your cat, no matter how Grumpy he looks.
